Feature: Multimedia Format

Hi,
as i play around with Multichannel Audio files it would be very handy if multichannel compressed files would be possible.
eg ac3 or mp4.
Right now i can either use wav in extensible format (which i cant created and are not compressed) or i use avi container format just with 8 channel audio in pcm no video stream (if i would by an expensive encoder i would maybe able to compression the audio in that avi) however the files become very large :(
