setting a moving heads default angle

Post by marius4560 »

Hi again :) great forum by the way!

I had a show this weekend, and was using 8 Showtec Expression moving heads in my rig. I had to hang them in different angles (the 4 in the middle was turned front towards me, 2 on left side was turned front towards right, and 2 on the right side was turned front towards left). Here is a video, not sure you can see what I mean but it may help:

I couldn't figure out how to turn the default angle of the side heads so they all had the same positioning as the middle heads. So that, when I make a pan/tilt movement, they would all point the same way, instead of the ones in the middle pointing forwards, while the left ones pointed right and the right ones pointed left. You know what I mean?

So, is there an easy way to do this?

There are 2 ways to do this
One way (probably the most appropriate for this situation) is to define minium and maximum pan and tilt values for these fixtures. This can be done within the page settings. More information can be found here:

Another option is to use palettes. Set up a palette for each of the main positions and then use these within the pan/tilt effect more info on palettes here:
