different fixtures have different dmx channels...
then you can't exchange fixtures in your pre-programmed shows

unfortunately there isn't a standard
some fixtures channels starts with pan and tilt and others with dimmer

also there are a lot of macros

I think that all manufacturers should adopt a standard for basic rules on how handle channels.

You can update a fixture profile providing certain information information is the same. This can be done by right clicking a fixture page and selecting update. However it's not possible to change a fixture completely.
