scene button and switch button

I was wondering: whats the differents between a scene button and a switch button?

A scene button is typically used to program a combination of channel types. i.e. gobo, dimmer, iris, color

A switch button is typically used to program a single channel type i.e. just gobo, just dimmer, just iris

Switches can be stacked as long as they do not affect the same channel type, however you can only have 1 scene playing at one time.
