Scripting

Post by Morningfatty »

Hello, I'm running Sunlite suite 2 to control my DMX lighting. I'm also using Pangolin's Beyond for my Laser control. The problem I'm having is starting both programs in sync. It seems like scripting a BATCH command is the answer. Does anyone have any easier solutions? If not does anyone know the Scripting command to start/stop SSL2 switches.

Hi there,

I don't have any experience with Beyond, but I can see that it is compatible with Midi commands, in a similar way to Sunlite Suite 2. I would focus on this as a way of triggering scenes, cycles or switches.

You can find a section on Midi commands for Sunlite Suite 2 here ...

Kind Regards,

Nick.

I will second this suggestion. Beyond has complete MIDI control, unlike Quickshow, which was more limited. My Sunlite, Beyond and LEDMaster is all handled through a midi track in Ableton, which also provides the click track we use when playing live..

... or by DMX: (seen in Beyond DMX user manual)
"BEYOND can be setup and controlled by an incoming DMX signal(DMX input)"
"DMX IN comes into BEYOND by means of ArtNet protocol, the Enttec DMX PRO USB controller or Pangolin QM2000 hardware."
