URGENT: dmx 512 dimmer pack issues

Hi,

I have spent the past weekend trying to get ESA to interface with a dmx 512 dimmer pack with 5 pin input. I have created the required adapter from 3 pin XLR and I know these adapters work
The dimmer pack works when controlled from a DMX 512 lighting desk however I have not been able to get it to respond from ESA software at all.
I am certain the ESA box is sending DMX 512 signal as intelligent lights I have in place after the dimmer pack work just fine as does a DMX smoke machine.

Dimmer pack is controlling 12 par 64s. The DMX address is set correctly to start dimmer pack at DMX address 1.

Any suggestions on how to get this working?

Are you sure the DMX cable is not too long (between the USB interface and the DIMMER pack) ?
