Help with Midi!

I have not been able to get a reasonable anwser to my question.
Can I trigger a light show from a piano/keyboard playing a musicial sequence? (Not a computer keyboard) And if so how do I get jump started?
I create midi files to add additional musicial parts while my band is performing. I would like the midi files loaded in the piano/keyboard to trigger the light show. Is this possible? In easy show you can import .wav and .mp3 files but you can't import .mid files. Maybe this is something that can be added to the next software update.
