Some findings in Beta 24. Aug

Post by RichterMC »

Hi Simon,

here are some findings in Beta 24. Aug. and some workflow optimizations:
Bugs:

- the button editor frequently cash when I try to open/edit a gradient block in the timeline.
When this happen you have to restart Suite 2. On Windows XP it will cash every time, under Windows 7 64 Bit
you may need some attempts.
If you like to check, load the demo Show and open the button editor for the multicolor switch on the Masterpage.
Now double-click a gradient block in the timeline.

- Can´t duplicate Cycle Buttons

- In the button editor Easystep window the buttons "copy" and "paste" are always disabled, so I couldn´t move steps
to rearrange the order,or is there a other way ?

- The button "Play with the timer" is still disabled in the Easystep window.
If you hit " Play with the BPM" by accident, you can´t switch it back to "Play with the timer" .

- When I edit the time of a button in the cycle window list view, the time in the list is not updated before I switch to timeline view and back again.

Workflow optimizations:

- would be nice to have a loop on/off button in the cycle window, at the moment you have to go to the button setting of the cycle button

-button editor should only ask to save if actually changes were made to the button

- del key to deleted buttons / steps in the cycle window and easystep

- scroll up and down with the mousewheel in easytime

An other bug:

Suite 2 will crash if you try to deleted the current loaded Show on startup "Open Show" window and choose "No" or "Yes" when you are asked
"Do you want to save the entire show?".
This don´t happen when Suite 2 is running and you open the "Open/Save Show" window from the ribbon bar.

Happened on Windows 7 64 bit and XP SP3.
Send crashlog to dylan.

Thanks Gernot. They have all been tested and forwarded. The suggestions all make sense and have been added to the list.

Hi Simon,

- "Encountered an improper argument" will be displayed if I try to rename or duplicate a switch in an compression "External window color mixing list/icon".
Is there a way to rearrange the order of the buttons in an compression "External window color mixing list/icon" ?

Hi Simon,

I reported somtime ago, that the cycle buttons randomly ask to save.
Now I found out that this isn´t random.
All cycle buttons on a page will ask to save, if you open a button settings dialog of a button (switch or scene) on this page and click the OK button to
close the button settings dialog. Doesn´t matter which button setting you open and close, as long it´s on the same page as the cycle buttons.
"Works" in the Masterpage too.

Hey Cedric,
- Ex & Importing Shows crashes S2 on W7 64 bit most of the time. Ones they are in preselection-window its fine.
I never see this happend under Windows 7 64 Bit, till today.
After I read your post I try to import a Show and it crash immediately.
I try a second time and it crash again, but after that I can´t get it to crash anymore.
I try several times but it won´t crash. It seems to be random.
Tested with current Beta 3.Sep.

Cedric, can you save a Show to a chosen location on your harddrive unter Window 7 64 Bit ?
On my machine it always save to the root directory of Suite 2 , no matter what I have chosen.
Under XP it works fine...

Gernot, thanks for finding a pattern for the cycle save bug...that's a clever one!

Cedric, this is quite difficult to fix unless we can find some kind of pattern. Do you have a particular show which crashes Suite 2 more than 25% of the time when imported? I have forwarded the windows crash log.

Gernot, regarding the save in root directory, I realised that at the weekend aswell, we'll fix it.

Simon, you are not able to choose a show, it will crash before the window opens.
Just press the import button on the "open Show" startup window and it crashes.

Hi,
I got time today to make some preparation at the club again. So I wanted to export the show and immediately after hitting the button, s2 freezes and the windows dialog popped up saying "application has to be shut down"
I attached the s2 show.
http://www47.zippyshare.com/v/90030408/file.html

After some restarts of s2 it finally worked.

-I noticed a new bug. After creating a new page of American dj mega bar pro (37 units) and restarting S2 the macro field was missing. Preferences still shows them, but in the main window they were gone.

regards

What is the macro field? Do you mean the macro channel on the fixture or a macro in the favorites dialog?

I've tried to load your show and typically it loads perfect..annoying!!

Hi Simon,

don´t be annoyed. It´s a good thing when something works perfect. :-)

@ Cedric
I download your showfile aswell.
There are no American dj mega bar pro in it or did I miss something ?
Which profile are you using for the mega bar pro ?
There 8 differend profiles from 2 Ch. to 29ch. mode.

By the way, kommst Du auch aus Deutschland und in welchem Club arbeitest Du ?

Beste Grüsse
Gernot
