"Write the interface''s memory" does not work.

I have a Stick DE3.
When I change the calendar settings or want to add a new scene I need to press the "Write the interface's memory" button.
If I connect Stick DE3 via USB, then everything works fine.
If I connect via Ethernet, then I can control the backlight remotely, switch scenes. But the "Write the interface's memory" button is not active and I can't write changes to the calendar or a new scene to memory.
Should this button be active when connecting via Ethernet?
English is not my native language, so please be kind to my mistakes.
