Suite 3 - Adding a Simple Static

How can adding a Simple Static be so difficult...
I want 4 seconds Red, 4 Seconds Green - Palette.
So highlight the fixtures, drag into Easytime. Drag a static - Toolbar comes up with an annoying fixture channel selection
Then Suite 3 decides to add 0.5Second of random timeline..so its all out of sync!
